I spent the afternoon wandering the streets of Ginza looking for jazz spots. Saw this great sign on the same backstreet as Jazz Country.
Like George Jefferson, I'm ready to move on up and start a long jazz journey into Ginza. Up till now have been mainly focused on the west side of town but it's time to expand a bit.
Lots to come this year on TJS, the usual site tinkering, 30 new jazz joints to profile and some Tokyo Jazz Society special events in spring and summer.

Killed some time in Nakano last night and wandered in the alleyways between the covered mall and the station.

Finally made it over to Waseda to check out Jazz Nutty, a new cafe that opened in 2009. It's a tiny place run by the lovely Mr. & Mrs. Aoki. Proper profile in the "Cafe" section coming later today.
These brothers from Hokkaido have been around for about 10 years. Classically trained shamisen players who record in a variety of genres.
