About Tokyo Jazz Site

Tokyo Jazz Site (TJS) was born in late 2007 as a blog devoted to a simple quest: visit and briefly profile every jazz related establishment in the Greater Tokyo Area. It has since been featured in publications including the Japan Times, the Asia Wall St. Journal and The Tokyo Journal magazine. In fall 2008 TJS founder Mr. OK Jazz (officially known as James Catchpole) acted as a consultant and was interviewed for the TV program "Jazz in the City: Tokyo", produced by and broadcast on Dutch national broadcaster NPS. In summer 2010 he was featured in the Singapore TV program "Asia By Taxi".

Mr. OK Jazz has lived in Tokyo for more than 13 years. He has worked variously as an English teacher, real estate firm office worker, NGO HR staff, US Recruiting industry office drone, private investigator, tour guide, wedding minister, actor, translator, graduate research student, karaoke machine installer, and now Tokyo jazz cafe explorer. He hopes this will be his final occupation.

If you have any burning Qs then email Mr. OK Jazz at mrokjazztokyo@gmail.com Perhaps he will take some time away from his Bobby Hutcherson albums and bottle of sake to respond to your email..in the meantime, read more below:
